Wunda Chair Class
Invented by Joseph Pilates and sometimes called the “Low Chair,” is a versatile piece of equipment. This innovative apparatus is highly effective for developing core strength, improving balance and coordination, building functional strength for everyday movements, enhancing sports performance, and working on postural alignment. Despite its simple appearance, it’s an extremely versatile tool that can be used for both sitting and standing exercises while providing resistance training for the entire body.

Reformer Class
The Reformer is a powerful and versatile machine designed to provide a complete full-body workout through controlled, flowing movements. By using a system of springs, pulleys, and a sliding carriage, the Reformer enables exercises that build strength, improve flexibility, and enhance core stability while maintaining proper alignment. The adjustable resistance levels make it suitable for all fitness levels, from rehabilitation patients to elite athletes, allowing for progressive challenges as strength develops. What makes the Reformer particularly effective is its ability to support proper form while simultaneously creating resistance and assistance, helping practitioners develop long, lean muscles while improving posture and body awareness.

Tower Class
The Tower is a streamlined, wall-mounted Pilates apparatus that features a padded mat base with a metal frame above, equipped with springs, bars, and attachments for a comprehensive workout experience. It allows practitioners to perform a wide range of exercises focusing on strength, flexibility, and alignment through its unique vertical orientation and adjustable spring resistance system. This versatile piece of equipment provides exceptional value for both mat and spring-assisted exercises, enabling users to work against gravity in ways that enhance posture, core control, and overall body awareness, and it’s particularly effective for exercises that focus on spinal mobility, upper body strength, and leg alignment.

Mat Class
A classical Pilates mat class is a group fitness session that builds core strength, flexibility, and body alignment through precise bodyweight exercises performed on a mat. Following Joseph Pilates’ original sequence, participants focus on controlled movements coordinated with breath, flow, & concentration, a few of the Pilates principles. Using no equipment beyond a mat, these classes develop strength from the core outward while improving posture and body awareness, with modifications available for all fitness levels.

At Spiritus Pilates Studio we follow the Classical Pilates Method, our leveling of the work comes through the work we do with our Teacher Training Program and is broken down into three main levels. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Beginner
This is where the magic begins. Whether you start on the equipment or on the mat, you are introduced to the building blocks (or the fundamentals) of the Pilates repertoire. You learn choreography, build skills and learn your way around the equipment. Class is slower paced. Don’t fret, you will get a workout at the beginner level!
Intermediate
Your Pilates practice is starting to come together. You are building strength, understanding Pilates skills, know some choreography and begin putting together more flow in your class. Your pace picks up, we work transitions and exercises become more challenging. You are expected to know some exercises set up and have a general idea of which exercises come next so the tempo pace.
Advanced
This is where the magic happens. Mr. Pilates refers to the Internal Shower and the pace is quick! You have mastered a lot of the Pilates skills and know the choreography well so class moves at a quick pace. Exercises are minimally set up.
Pro
Invite only. You are a professional, trainee or have trained in Pilates for years and have mastered the work. Class is very quick and exercises are not set up. We are going for flow in this class!
PLEASE NOTE:
At times there is an overlap of levels in class. Some classes will offer modifications, however the Teacher will follow the class level listed. Please follow the discretion of your Teacher when signing up for class.
