A Graduate Course for Certified Pilates Instructors

Master the Authentic Classical Method

The Classical Pilates method transcends a simple sequence of exercises—it’s an integrated system uniting mind and body under the guidance of a skilled instructor. Exceptional teachers possess the knowledge, intuition, and adaptability to tailor this method to each client’s unique needs.

Drawing from over 25 years of experience, MeJo Wiggin has created The Classical Syllabus®—an advanced program for instructors who have completed comprehensive certification but yearn for deeper mastery of Classical Pilates principles and their real-world applications.

WHY THIS PROGRAM?

The Classical Syllabus® transforms your teaching by developing your ability to clearly understand exercise details, accurately assess client imbalances, and create individualized programs that achieve optimal results. MeJo’s experience overseeing more than 400 weekly private sessions under Romana Kryzanowska’s personal mentorship has equipped her with unparalleled insight into applying Classical Pilates across diverse populations—from professional athletes to those managing chronic pain, amputees, clients with Parkinson’s disease, knee injuries, scoliosis, and numerous other conditions.

LEARN FROM A DIRECT LINEAGE

This unique series shares wisdom gained through MeJo’s extensive study with first-generation instructors including Romana Kryzanowska, Sari Mejia Santos, Kathy Grant, Edwina Fontaine, and Jay Grimes. Her experience as a Teacher Trainer in Romana’s Pilates Instructor Training Program adds exceptional depth and authenticity to this course, connecting you directly to the source of Classical Pilates knowledge.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

The program unfolds through four comprehensive seminars: The Beginner System, Intermediate System Part I, Intermediate System Part II, and The Advanced System. Each seminar creates an immersive experience spanning 22 hours over 4 days. Choose to take individual modules that address your specific teaching needs or complete the full program to receive a Certificate of Completion.

Prerequisites: A comprehensive 600+ hour Pilates Certification serves as your foundation for this advanced journey.

WHAT YOU’LL DISCOVER

Within these intimate sessions, you’ll explore detailed exercise breakdowns while understanding the strategic approach to modifications for individual clients. MeJo will guide you through sophisticated client assessment techniques that reveal strengths, weaknesses and imbalances, while sharing Joe Pilates’ original movement principles and teaching methodology.

You’ll develop nuanced spotting and cueing techniques unique to Classical Pilates, alongside program development skills for truly customized client systems. The program also deepens your understanding of authentic Gratz® apparatus and its integral role in the Classical method.

The intentionally limited enrollment ensures personalized attention and creates space for meaningful discussions about your most challenging clients, equipping you with effective techniques to transform their practice.

If you’ve taken the Classical Syllabus before, we welcome you again for a second or third time. Each Syllabus is as unique as each individual that attends as Mejo curates her special populations section to what your small group truly needs.

SPECIAL BONUS: MAT CLASSES
